Epithelium integrity: from pathologic regeneration to homeostasis

We aim to characterize the cellular mechanisms involved in physiologic and patthologic tissue regeneration, in order to better understand and target epithelial tissue integrity after the cell death induced by chronic inflammation. To this end, we will:
(i) characterize the regeneration defect in AH by studying the role of the Hippo/YAP pathway in liver epithelial cell fate,
(ii) explore the influence of ECM and fibrosis in regeneration, and
(iii) define the interaction with the innate immmune system. We will also explore the role of NRs in gut epithelial integrity and mucosal healing.
